6 Best Justt.ai Alternatives to Consider
My experience as an e-commerce manager exposed me to chargeback issues. I looked into Justt but opted for a different approach.
This guide aims to weigh Justt against other services that may surpass its offerings.
Chargeback is an ideal alternative to Justt because they focus more on dispute alerts.
Such alerts are ideal for SaaS businesses or any folks who sell digital products. But they can benefit other industries.
See how it delivers results here.
Time to dive in.
Alternatives to Justt
Here’s who we’ll be comparing:
- Chargeback: Best overall
- Chargeflow: Best chargeback representment alternative
- Chargebacks911: Best for enterprise use
- Chargeblast: Best for only alerts in some cases
- Signifyd: Best for fraud protection
- Kount: A great alternative for fraud prevention
Each section will cover these product aspects:
- Strengths and weaknesses
- Target market and industry fit
- General insights
- Standout characteristics
Utilize this information to identify a competent alternative.
If you have no idea how to choose a good tool, here’s a guide to help.
Let the evaluation commence.
1. Chargeback: Best Overall
- Services:
- Alerts
- Best for: SaaS & media products (low fulfillment cost products)
Pros:
- Transparent with alert pricing
- Specializes in alerts
- Integrates with various payment processors
Cons:
- Only focuses on chargeback alerts
Chargeback is best for any SaaS companies or folks selling digital products.
They’re also better because of their integrations with platforms like PayPal.
Speaking of alerts.
Justt offers RDR, CDRN, and Ethoca alerts. But it doesn’t mention the pricing anywhere on their site.
I might have missed it. But that should be easy to find.
If I were considering their services, I’d also want to know whether their alerts integrate with other platforms. Because as someone who typically uses Shopify for e-commerce, that’s crucial.
They do mention “40+ supported payment service providers” on their landing page.
But who?
I just see a million logos scrolling across the screen.
Chargeback does for sure integrate with these platforms:
- Stripe
- Shopify
- PayPal
- Chargebee
- Recurly
- Braintree
- More to come
And integration is simple.
Now, bear with me for a moment.
I recommend reconsidering automating the representment process, which is what Justt does.
Payment platforms like Stripe already make the process way quicker. They do so by adding most transaction information to the representment packages (for free).
If you need to review your chargeback history to identify weak points, you’re better off hiring a chargeback analyst.
You can rest assured that they’re likely up-to-date with laws and best practices for dealing with chargebacks. Since situations like friendly fraud and third-party fraud are arms races.
Speaking of fraud.
Chargeback insurance and fraud detection tools get rid of the need to deal with most disputes. The former reimburses losses. The latter prevents fraud from occurring.
The point of that rant is to let you know that it isn’t necessary to trust a third-party company with more company data than what’s needed.
Having the following are good enough for dealing with chargebacks:
- Chargeback insurance
- Fraud protection
- Honest and clear policies
- Standard operations procedures for shipments
We provide more information on preventing chargebacks in a separate guide. It should help
Automating the chargeback process could become a double-edged sword. As the “AI” could submit the wrong evidence.
I digress.
Of course I’m recommending Chargebacks since I’m the writer. However. Looking at this objectively from a merchant’s perspective, this is a product I’d consider.
If I didn’t solely focus on selling physical products, this would have been a miracle for me.
I focused on shipping items. I needed to block more purchases because I had to be picky about who I shipped to.
SaaS companies don’t need to do that. Plus, they have much higher gross margins than folks who sell tangible products (70 – 85%) [1].
This gives them wiggle room to pay additional costs for chargeback alerts. And they can accept more purchases.
With more purchases accepted, there’s more potential for extra money.
If you read all the above and still want automated representment, consider the next pick.
Did I convince you to try it out?
If not, you should see how we’ve helped other businesses.
2. Chargeflow: Best Chargeback Representment Alternative
- Services:
- Alerts
- Management
- Dispute response generator
- Best for: E-commerce stores who sell high-ticket items
Pros:
- Much cheaper for recovered revenue
- Transparent with alert pricing
Cons:
- Possibly supports more payment processors
Chargeflow is cheaper than Justt because they charge 25% of recovered revenue per dispute in your favor.
Justt charges 35%.
I had to look in their FAQs to find this. Why not show it on a pricing page?
With that in mind, I can’t justify paying 35% to Justt when I could pay less for a competitor with more proven experience.
For instance, Chargeflow has a (small) case study about how they helped Wordtune increase its dispute win rates by 4.3x.
I don’t see similar case studies for Justt.
I only see the word “AI” mentioned a lot.
Since this “AI boom,” I’ve lost faith in most products that use the term in their marketing.
Chargeflow’s system is still automated, but it doesn’t use a lot of buzzwords, which increases my faith in them. Just by a bit, though. And if I were to want automated chargeback representment.
Regardless:
Why use chargeback management tools, anyway?
Instead of solely paying a fixed fee per alert, you pay only per won dispute. That’s much more affordable for smaller-ticket items.
I can’t just keep talking down to Justt.
They do support 40+ payment service providers (PSPs). This is great for anyone who doesn’t use the usual suspects (e.g., Stripe).
Account creation with Chargeflow is much easier.
With Justt, you need to contact someone to get started.
With a regular Chargeflow account, you can jump in. As someone who doesn’t have much extra time, I can’t spend it talking to someone about software.
Chargeback is great for alerts.
And Chargeflow is excellent as a jack-of-(almost) all-trades.
But Justt doesn’t focus on fraud prevention.
Here’s a breakdown on how Chargeflow does compared to its competition.
We’ll talk about that next.
3. Chargebacks911: Best for Larger Businesses
- Services:
- Alerts
- Management
- Compliance check
- Dispute source finder
- Representment help
- Best for: Comprehensive solution for large businesses
Pros:
- Comprehensive chargeback prevention tools
- Proprietary technology for chargeback source detection
- Non-compliance checks and merchant audits
Cons:
- Lack of pricing transparency
- May be too complex for small businesses
Chargebacks911 is best for large enterprises that need a suite of chargeback management tools.
Their use of Verifi Order Insight and Ethoca Consumer Clarity can stop chargebacks before they happen. This approach can save merchants time and money by reducing the number of disputes.
Both features do this by sending detailed transaction information to shoppers.
Such details could help them remember a transaction they “forgot.”
Justt focuses on creating strong evidence for each chargeback case. They use data points to build tailored responses.
Chargebacks911 also does this, but with more details.
However:
Many US government bodies sued Chargebacks911 due to “deceptive” techniques [2]. The lawsuit suggests that they could have used these when building representment packages.
I won’t comment further on the lawsuit. But this is something to consider.
For further reading, the link is in the Sources section at the end of the article.
And I still recommend them in some cases. Because they could have gotten their act together.
If you’re skeptical, or want to do more research, we compared them to similar services in a separate piece.
Let’s look at their Intelligent Source Detection feature.
It makes Chargebacks911 stand out.
This technology helps merchants understand why chargebacks happen. With this knowledge, businesses can fix issues at their root. Justt doesn't offer this level of insight into chargeback sources.
The 106-point non-compliance check helps businesses stay in line with card network rules.
This can prevent chargebacks caused by merchant errors.
Justt doesn't mention similar compliance checks in their offerings.
Chargebacks911 leverages Compelling Evidence 3.0, which can boost the chances of winning disputes. They also use CDRN and Ethoca alerts to give merchants a head start on potential chargebacks.
Justt offers alerts, too. But doesn't specify using Compelling Evidence 3.0.
Pricing is a key difference.
Chargebacks911 doesn't share their prices publicly. This suggests they cater to larger businesses with custom needs.
A buddy of mine who has a small(ish) business got a $1,000 a month quote from them. And that’s just for basic features.
They also required a 12-month contract.
Justt's fee of 35% of recovered revenue is clear but might be high for some merchants.
I’ll provide alternatives that have similar features but charge less.
Large businesses that want a complete chargeback solution might prefer Chargebacks911.
Its range of tools can handle complex chargeback scenarios.
Smaller companies or those focused on dispute resolution might find Justt's approach more fitting.
If you just want alerts, consider the next option.
4. Chargeblast: Best for Chargeback Alert Integrations
- Services:
- Alerts
- Best for: SaaS & media products
Pros:
- Integrates with many payment platforms like Stripe, Shopify, and Ayden.
- Clear, straightforward pricing.
- Connects with communication tools like Slack and Discord for alerts.
Cons:
- Does not offer automatic data selection for dispute responses.
Chargeblast is best for those only wanting chargeback alerts with certain integrations.
Chargeblast and Justt offer different benefits for businesses needing chargeback management.
Chargeblast connects with various payment platforms like Stripe, Shopify, and Ayden.
This integration gives merchants flexibility when choosing payment solutions.
Justt, by contrast, focuses on using data from many sources to build strong evidence for chargebacks.
Chargeblast provides clear pricing on their alerts. And they’re not too expensive (compared to Chargeflow).
Justt does not provide upfront pricing details, which could lead to unexpected costs.
However:
They lack some integrations, which Chargeback has.
I break down the differences in a guide where I list Chargeblast alternatives. Check it out.
But they have more integrations than Chargeflow and Chargebacks911.
Let’s get back to Justt versus Chargeblast.
Chargeblast also integrates with tools like Slack and Discord for communication. This can be useful for teams needing real-time alerts.
Justt doesn’t specify their integrations.
Struggling to decide?
This list might help:
- If you need alerts and access to Consumer Clarity, go with Chargeblast.
- For alerts with certain integrations, choose Chargeback.
- To get chargeback representation, consider another option.
None of these options tackle fraud, though.
The next pick is my favorite alternative in that area.
5. Signifyd: Best for Fraud Protection
- Services:
- Alerts
- Management
- Dispute response generator
- Fraud prevention
- Account protection
- Best for: All-in-one solutions for large businesses
Pros:
- Fraud liability shift
- Real-time decision making
- Authorization rate optimization
Cons:
- Lack of pricing transparency
- Potential overkill for small businesses
Signifyd is best for sellers that want comprehensive fraud prevention and chargeback protection.
Signifyd focuses on preventing fraud before it happens.
Justt concentrates on handling chargebacks after they occur.
Signifyd's Chargeback Protection evaluates orders at checkout. It gives instant decisions backed by a financial guarantee.
This means merchants can approve more orders without fear of losses.
Justt doesn't offer this upfront protection.
The Signifyd Commerce Network sets it apart.
It uses data from many merchants to spot fraud patterns. This helps them make better decisions about which orders to accept.
Justt relies on individual merchant data, which may not catch all fraud types.
Signifyd's Account Protection watches shoppers' behavior over time. It builds profiles to catch odd behavior. This can stop account takeovers and other fraud types.
Justt doesn't mention similar account monitoring features.
Signifyd’s Authorization Rate Optimization shares data with banks to help more orders get approved. This can boost sales for merchants.
Another tool that Justt doesn’t offer.
Signifyd offers various pricing options:
- Flat fees
- Percentage of sales
This flexibility can suit different business sizes.
Justt charges a percentage of recovered funds. Which might work better for businesses with fewer chargebacks.
The choice between the 2 depends on a merchant's main problems.
If fraud prevention is the goal, Signifyd's tools offer more.
Justt's specialized approach might work better if fighting existing chargebacks is the focus. Though, Signifyd also offers chargeback representment help.
Smaller merchants or those with low fraud rates might find Justt's focused approach sufficient.
This last tool might offer more comprehensive data.
6. Kount: Best for a Complete Solution
- Services:
- Alerts
- Management
- Dispute response generator
- Fraud prevention
- Account protection
- Best for: All-in-one solutions for large businesses
Pros:
- Comprehensive fraud prevention tools
- Order validation through multiple networks
- Scalable automation for chargeback management
Cons:
- Transaction-based pricing model
- Potential for higher costs for low-volume merchants
Kount is best for those seeking an end-to-end solution that combines fraud prevention and dispute management. Especially those with high transaction volumes.
I will break down this last section to make it easier to read.
Enjoy.
1. Prevention versus representment.
Their fraud detection system can stop problems before they lead to chargebacks. This proactive approach can save merchants time and money in the long run.
Again, Justt focuses on chargeback management after disputes arise.
They use data points to build strong cases for each chargeback. This can be helpful for businesses that face a lot of friendly fraud or complex dispute scenarios.
Kount's order validation feature works with networks like Ethoca and Verifi. This can reduce chargebacks by giving issuers more transaction details.
Justt doesn't offer this preemptive validation.
For chargeback management, Kount uses intelligent filters to decide which cases to fight.
This can save resources by focusing on winnable disputes.
Justt takes a different approach, creating tailored responses for each case. This might lead to higher win rates but could also be more time-consuming.
2. Pricing models.
Pricing models differ between the two.
Kount charges per transaction, which can be cost-effective for high-volume merchants.
Justt’s monetization model might appeal to businesses with lower chargeback rates.
3. Other features and who to choose.
Kount has these additional features to consider:
- Account takeover prevention
- Global watchlist search
These tools can be valuable for businesses in high-risk industries. Or for those dealing with international transactions.
The choice between Kount and Justt depends on a merchant's needs.
Businesses looking for a complete fraud and chargeback solution might prefer Kount. Its range of tools can address issues at multiple points in the transaction process.
Companies that want to focus on chargeback wins might find Justt's specialized approach more suitable.
Kount's pricing model favors high-volume businesses.
Justt's revenue-share model might work better for those with fewer, higher-value transactions.
If you want more information on Kount, read the piece where I compare it to similar software.
Hopefully, you’ve found an alternative to Justt by now.
Conclusion
Justt provides “AI” chargeback representment and alerts. But they’re vague on the details of each solution and their results. Hopefully, some of the alternatives I offered can help guide you toward your next dispute solution provider.
Again, you don’t need “automated chargeback solutions.” Having a human touch from analysts and coverage from insurance is good enough in most cases. And for preventing chargebacks, alerts help A LOT.
If you need an alert provider that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg, try us out.
